...10 things...

10 things you may not know about me..
  • I'm quickly becoming a fan of audio books. Sometimes music in the car just does not cut it; I need more entertainment and audio books do a good job of that.
  • I would be happy moving to the middle of nowhere (for a few years).
  • I over analyze things, it's just what I do. This one gets me into trouble a lot. I'm sure boyfriend can attest to this one.
  • I would rather eat dirt than eat broccoli cheese soup.
  • I'm a teensy weensy bit scared of the dark. Come on, there really could be something lurking under the bed or in the closet.
  • I enjoy the show Cops. Call me what you want, but it's a good show.
  • I'm afraid of wiggly, squirmy or flying things. This includes bugs, birds and small animals. Please see ...forever and a day... I've been known to freak out if a ladybug/butterfly/bee(understandably)/grass hopper/toad gets too close.
  • I can get a little defensive when I'm told what to do. This one also gets me into trouble. Oops.
  • I want to donate a huge chunk of money to an animal shelter.
  • I like bulleted lists. Wait, you already knew that.

...forever and a day...

Alright, it's been forever. I thought about blogging just about everyday for the past 3 weeks, but just couldn't get myself to do it(don't ask why...it's not a hard task).

Scout started puppy class. It was originally supposed to be a small class of three. Everyone but us cancelled, so we're now getting private lessons. Worked out perfectly! He's been doing well. It's all positive clicker training....do you know this means we're not supposed to say 'no'? Ummmmm......do you also know how hard it is to not say 'no' to a 7 month old puppy? We're told to redirect his attention when he's being naughty. Not sure what we're supposed to do when visitor friend comes over with herbs(yes L, it was dill weed...my absolute favorite) and a carton of eggs and he jumps her, spilling her goodies all over. I'll have to check on that one, but I'm pretty sure his kong can't handle that situation. Other than the jumping, he's turning into a well behaved, smart cookie.

Work is work. I've realized I have a love/hate relationship with it.

Time spent with boyfriend is fantastic. We've been fishing a lot lately. And by fishing I mean me holding the fishing pole while boyfriend does all the work.....well, I guess I cast it too. Other than that, all fishing tasks are done by boyfriend - worming the hook, "de-fishing" the hook, driving the boat, telling me where the good spots are, cleaning the fish, etc. First off, holding a worm? Maybe, if my life depended on it. Tearing a worm apart and putting it on a hook? Nope. Too many gooey parts. Secondly, taking the fish off the hook? Ha! I won't touch a worm, do you really think I'll hold the fish and take it off the hook? Try again!!! Actually, I'm getting better and have contemplated holding one. We'll see. Could I be any more of a whimpy girl? It has been lots of fun though. At least I can wear my polka-dot rubber boots and use my black and pink pole :)

...dislike...

I hate drinking out of glass. Ughhh..it makes me cringe just thinking about it! After it's been in the dishwasher a BAJILLION times it gets GROSS. Do you know what I'm talking about? It's a little like rubbing a cotton ball together. Yucko!! Also hate when you can see the white dishwasher film in glass. Give me plastic cups like I had as a child :)

...spring has sprung..i think...

It looks like Michigan has finally brought spring to us. I'm really hoping by posting this, I'm not jinxing us....I mean, we are known for our crazy weather. One day it could be 65 and sunny, the next it's 15 and snowy. Anyways, here's to hoping spring has actually sprung!
Clues that spring is here:
  • Birds wake you up at 6:45 on a Saturday morning(thank you, birds).
  • It's actually nice to wear flats, as your feet do not fall off from the cold(trudging through the snow in those things, is not a fun thing to do)
  • No jackets, bulky coats, mittens, scarves, boots...this is a given.
  • The air smells absolutely amazing. Spring air is one of the best smells out there...no idea what it is, but I could bottle it up.
  • The people of MI break out their flip flops, capris, shorts, skirts, etc when it's only 55 degrees. After seeing 10 degrees for weeks at a time, 55 is balmy!!
  • 55 degrees seems balmy.
  • The grass is actually visible. We begin to forget what it is after 3 months of winter, but it's there....even though it's smashed to the ground and brown, it's there.
  • Rainy days make you happy. I could not have been more excited to fall asleep to the sound of rain the other day.
  • No scraping windshields! WOOOHOOOO!!! Getting up 45 minutes early everyday to scrape 13 layers of ice off of the car gets old after awhile(there may be a bit of exaggeration there...I only got up 40 minutes early).
Oh mother nature, I sure hope you have actually brought spring to us. Please do not tease us like this if you're planning on more snow!!

...silence is golden...

I had been in my car for about 10 minutes on the way home tonight, when I realized I wasn't on the phone and I wasn't listening to any music. It was fantastic! Usually, the second I get in my car I call someone(usually boyfriend) or I plug in the ipod. After a day of phone calls and chatting with co-workers, the silence put me in a state of bliss. Of course, it would have been SO much better if I had a cup of hot tea and someone rubbing my feet....probably not the best idea when i'm driving though..

...i hate being old...

Since i started the new job, I now have a stupid sleep schedule. Who knew that sleeping in on Saturday would mean 7:30. Ugh, that's so annoying. I was never one to sleep the day away, but COME ON, let's make it to 8 at least!!! And right now? It's almost 10pm and I'm questioning why the television is still on. Part of the problem is that little man is ready to get up at 5:30am every morning. He clearly does not know the joys of sleep..

...chef ramsey is a god...

have ya seen the show? kitchen nightmares? he tells restaurant owners that their restaurants blow and they need to change themselves. i want him to be my personal chef for the rest of my life..............and open a restaurant in my name. i'd name it prude ;) ha! probably wouldn't get too much business. check.it.out.
