...surprise. it's about the dog...

Keeping him busy with the laser pointer - the lazy-man's way of giving him exercise.

PS - He's better than a week ago. No more emergency trips to the vet. The diaper lasted only for about 24 hours, but he was fairly healed up at that point.

Bachelor is on. Must go.

...what.a.day....

Where do i begin??  I've created a bulleted list so you can see the fiasco that was my day...

  • Rear-ended a woman on the way to work.
    • No damage
      • Definitely annoying.
      • Almost late to work.
  • Lost the second employee in the mag department(moving on to new jobs) in the past month.
    •  Was quickly trained on all of the things I'll be taking over.
      • One word.
        • Overwhelming.
    • Already working overtime because we don't have enough people.
      • Sucks.
      • New employee can't come soon enough.
  • Found out I owe a TON of money on taxes since I was basically working as an independent contractor at my last job.
    • Fun.
  • Scouty came home from surgery, which went well until he was gushing blood all over.
    • Never seen that much blood come out of a living being in my life.
    • Ended up taking him to the emergency vet.
    • Should be fine now - just have to keep the podunk diaper on him for the next 48 hours.
      • Do they know that he's a 5 1/2 month old puppy that loves to play and jump around?
      • Should be interesting.
      • Pictures:

Notice the festive red and green.

 Closeup. And yes, he waddles.

...learning...

What I've learned about myself from my last post:

1. I love parenthesis.
2. I love ...'s
3. I love to ramble.

...work. puppy. boyfriend....

It's been awhile. Here goes the update...keepin it simple as to not bore you...

Work is going well!! Publications is a busy, but fun world. I get to play in photoshop all day and get paid for it. Also get to talk to REALLY sweet subscribers and advertisers...most of them from the south. The best calls are those asking to renew their "perscription"...or when they want to talk to the registration department, they ask for "restoration"...intelligence at it's finest, folks!!

Scouty boy goes to the vet on monday to get his manhood chopped off. Poor thing..doesn't even know what he's in for. And fyi - you know it's time for your puppy to be neutered when he and his mother ummmm, er, enjoy pleasure lick each other inappropriately. Momma dog is in heat right now....let's just say it's not a good mix with a testosterone filled little puppy. It's also a great time when the scary, wolf-like german sheppard neighbor(Scout's dad) decides it's a good idea to scratch at boyfriend's front door to get in. I'm not one to be scared of any dog..no matter the breed, size, whatever...but this dog is scaaaaary. One day in the fall, when I was outside playing with all the puppies, the wolf was sitting across the yard just sitting, watching. I started talking doggie/baby talk to him like I do with all dogs aaaand nothin.  No reponse. Ya know, most dogs perk their ears, turn their head, run with glee to come see me(I've even had some pee a little)....not him, no sirry. He just sat and stared. Such a creeper!! Anyways, last weekend we came home to find him sitting on the front door step. Thankfully, boyfriend isn't scared of him and got out to yell at him. The next day, the wolf visits became more frequent. Boyfriend got the great idea to shoot bottle rockets out the door(don't worry PETA I was there to make sure he wouldn't hit the wolf, because just like you folks, i think animals should be treated well...even if they do want to get into boyfriend's dog's pants and are weird creepers....but a little loud noise to get him away from the front door never hurt) but it didn't work and he was gone by the time boyfriend got everything ready. Needless to say, all dogs that aren't fixed are annoying, which is why Scouty Bud will be visiting the vet on Monday.

...they grow up so fast...

I've turned in to THAT dog owner.  Ya know...the one that treats their dog like a child.  Yes, I am a huge dog lover and the rents have three that I love dearly, but I've never really felt they were my own.  Now, with my little man...I understand.  I want to wrap him up and carry him around like a baby...a big, furry 30 pounder.  And he looks at me with those puppy eyes when he's naughty..

I just can't punish him. Anyways, he's already 4 months old and goes in to be fixed next month.  I just can't believe it.  I really do feel like it was just yesterday that I met him and his 6 other siblings at boyfriends when they were 3 weeks old.  Puppy training begins in 2 months.  That will be an adventure!!

...technology addiction...

Why do people drive with their GPS on when they know where they're going???  It bothers me.  You don't really need to see your car driving on the map.  Today I saw a guy driving with his GPS up and running, just in map mode.  You know, you can tell when they have a destination because the screen has an arrival time and directions for your next turn.  Yeah, maaaaaybe he's not from around here but highly doubtful.  I'm a huge lover of technology, but really?  Does he really need to see the GPS map while he's driving?!

...winter wonderland...

Scouty and I(and family) went out to enjoy the snow today.  Found out he LOVES to sled.  He went down 3 times with me!  Maybe we'll move on to surfing next.  Guess that means I have to learn to surf...

Suited up and ready to go!

Look at him just hanging out(also look at my dad trying to deal with the dog and prepare himself to push us)!!

And away we gooooooooo!!!!

I'd also like to point out the S*@t show going on.  One dog watching and scared in the background, one dog leashed and in the way of the 'pusher,' one dog in the way of the sled, and one dog sledding.
